Today we planted a tree.

Today we planted a hibiscus tree in our playground. It was great fun! Mrs Cater had to dig a hole first and then she put in some water and food for the tree to eat and drink. She then put the tree in the hole and wrapped it up in soil.

Jam Sandwiches.

Today we learned how to follow a recipe. We would like to practice this at home so here is the recipe...
1)Wash your hands.
2)Spread the butter on the bread.
3)Spread the jam on the bread.
4)Cut the bread in half.
5)Sandwich the two pieces together.
6)Eat.

Powhiri

Yesterday we had a Powhiri for Gabriella, who is a new girl starting in Room 3. It was great fun and we enjoyed welcoming her into our team. We had biscuits and Juice and got to play with her old friends before they left.

Dress Up

Today we all dressed up in different costumes for Easter. We had an amazing time, as you can see in the Dress Up slideshow, and we can't wait to do it again after the holidays. We had lots of different plays going on at the one time. We behaved really well and were responsible students.

Solo Taxonomy

We have been learning lots about Solo Taxonomy in Room 2. The slideshow above shows some of our maps. We discussed what school would be like without teachers and we also discussed how teachers keep us safe. You can ask us at home what a pre structural answer is (can't answer/needs help), what a uni structural answer is (I can give 1 relevant point/answer) and what a multi structural answer is (I can give more than 1 relevant answer). In Room 2 we have all tried giving multi structural answers and we have been doing really well.

Harold the Giraffe.

We are extremely excited in Room 2 today because Harold the Giraffe has come to visit us. We will be going inside his caravan and he will be teaching us lots of different things. Stay tuned to find out what we have been learning about.

Measuring.

We have been really busy in Room 2 this term learning all about how we measure things. We have been measuring lots of different things around the classroom with our rulers. We have measured our hands and feet and put them into size order around our classroom. They look really great! We have been measuring in cms.
